Project Overview:
A community leading hobby web site, bitPimps Custom Modifications draws in large numbers of traffic and members by offering fresh information, articles, tutorials, entertainment, and contests related to the micro & mini r/c hobby world.
The web site also allows visitors to join as members in a discussion forum and gallery for members who are seeking more specific information, want learn more, show off, and more.
My Role:
From concept, through construction, then on to maintenance and administration — I am responsible for it all. In the beginning, I had some concept brain-storming sessions with a few close friends, that gave me the base of the concept. From there on out, I was the only person to design, develop, and maintain the web site.
Now with well over 950 members and steadily growing, I now over-see a team of forum moderators who help me keep the forums clean and members following the rules.
I have implemented administration screens to help me out when updating content and image galleries on the site. Each page is dynamically created on the server from information entered into the content management system in the administration area.
